Objectives: This clinical study aimed to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of Purexa Whitening Serum and Purexa Whitening Strips in improving tooth shade and maintaining gingival health among young adults.
Methods: Forty volunteers aged 18–25 years were enrolled and randomly assigned into two equal groups. Group A received Purexa Whitening Serum, while Group B received Purexa Whitening Strips. Baseline tooth shade was assessed using the Vita Classical shade guide, and gingival health was evaluated using the Löe & Silness Gingival Index. Mid-treatment and post-treatment evaluations were recorded. Data were analyzed using paired and independent t-tests with p < 0.05 considered significant.
Results: Both groups demonstrated visible tooth shade improvement. Approximately 65% of participants in the serum group and 80% in the strips group showed 1–2 shade level improvements. Mean gingival index scores decreased slightly in both groups, with no significant intergroup difference (p > 0.05). No adverse gingival reactions were observed.
Conclusion: Purexa Whitening Serum and Strips are effective and safe bleaching modalities. The strips provided slightly superior whitening compared to the serum, while both maintained gingival health.
