The building construction industry is increasingly focusing on integrating sustainable green features into building designs, construction and maintenance till end of life to mitigate environmental impacts. Understanding how to quantify and manage is crucial to promote sustainable development practices in both residential and commercial buildings. Previous studies have explored various aspects including energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, water conservation, and green certified material usage. Further they developed the criteria set for green building ratings and certifications. However, research on the comprehensive quantification and management of these features for site work execution and supervision level is limited, particularly in the context of construction projects. This study aims to address this research gap by developing a methodology for assessment and implementation of sustainable green features through sustainability indicators for residential and commercial buildings. The outcome from this work, can address how to be quantified and managed effectively. The primary objective of this study is formulated to establish a systematic approach for evaluation, which turns to enhance the sustainability of building for the entire life cycle using the proposed system called "Building Construction Project Sustainability Assessment System, BCPSAS". Further this study showcases the possibilities of incorporating into the real case studies and accordingly to mitigate the challenges encountered, through the lessons learned from this part of study. Overall, this study represents the possibilities of implementing a structured framework through evaluation of sustainable indicators for sustainable green features to improve the environmental, and socio-economic performance of residential and commercial buildings. These findings may help to explore how policy frameworks and budgetary allocations influence on the adoption and implementation of sustainable practices.
