The study is limited to Andhra Pradesh. In this paper a theoretical discussion of environmental mastery and socio-economic status is done. The paper tries to explain the economic decision making, and having control over the immediate social surroundings are greatly dependent upon the socio-economic status components of education, income, economic freedom etc. The study suggests some recommendations relating to improving the lot of not only teaching but also other sectors.
